  • There's the whole point. 4:32 min:sec , "Decision made after a single call with a foreign leader who doesnt share our common interest," Hence, Trump makes another decision based on in personal business interest and not the USA. Re: Trump Tower Istanbul. And to my friend Mr Kinzinger, about the inquiry being initially focused on impeachment, 8:45, there are many who feel that many impeachable factors already existed prior to the Ukraine call.

  • Y'all do realize that most his followers don't use Twitter and aren't away of the impulsiveness unless Fox reports it

  • Dear Vladimir happy birthday I didn't know what to get you so I thought you might like the middle east all the best Donald j tRUMP

  • How are they going to get the facts…Trump threatens anyone and everyone who wants to keep their job. Might as well go for his taxes while you're at it lol.

  • Our crazy president is making policy on the run just to divert attention on impeachment which is killing him. The guy is mad serious mental

  • Trump broke the freaking law! For the love of God, what part of that don't you get? If Obama had done what Trump's done, it would be an entirely different story, so cut the crap.

  • If you have done nothing wrong and there is nothing to see then when can't the American people or Congress see if you are lying or criminal.

  • Joe Scarborough let his Republican roots show by not pressing Kinzinger about why withholding congressional approved military equipment from an ally, needed to fight Putin's Russia, in an effort to undermine a domestic political opponent is not an impeachable offense. If not, then what would be? You disappointed me Joe as did Kinzinger. Not a shock on either count.

  • What a time to be alive.
I keep hoping that someone will wake me up and tell me this has all just been a bad dream.
I know that is too much to ask.
What I find absolutely mind freaking is how they think we're just so oblivious to the fact that they obviously guilty of everything they're say the opposition is doing, which is patently untrue.

Donald Trump is destroying America from within, very sad.

I don't know if it can be stopped but it has been said that a house divided will not stand.
I am pretty sure that Mr Putin is really yucking it up right about now.

  • An impeachment inquiry means inquiry for indictment, not initially removal from office. There is a lot of confusion about what impeachment means. Hashtag: let's get educated about it.

  • This guy going on about the leap to a to an impeachment inquiry is ignoring the fact that the Trump administration has stonewalled all previous efforts of Congress to do their duty to oversee the Executive branch. An impeachment inquiry puts the Congress’s efforts to get testimony and documents on a stronger legal footing, but it’s still an inquiry, an investigation. A person on trial for theft isn’t already convicted of theft; people must gather the evidence of and against the alleged act and put it on public display so the acquittal or conviction can be seen to be just. That’s what’s happening in Congress — a gathering and display (within the bounds of national security and the law) of the evidence.

  • Seems everything Trump does is "uncharted territory". The Congress cannot leave town for one day without some new crisis starting up! I would sure hate to be a Congress person now and have to answer to my constituents when I manage to get some days off out of Washington.

  • Let's back up a bit. The Republican position is morphing the reality of what the situation regarding Ukraine really is.

What is disturbing the citizens isn't that the Ukrainians are messing around with our elections.

It is that Trump, the President, used his power as President, in the discharge of his job, to solicit a foreign country (Ukraine) with whom he was conducting a US taxpayer-funded act of military aid and assistance – (as contemplated, debated, determined, voted on, decided by and appropriated by Congress) – as an opportunity to get Ukraine to interfere in our elections in a way precisely and illegally to help Trump's chances to win and unfairly hurt his opponent's chances to win.

There was no discussion in Congress of this demand Trump placed on Ukraine. There was no authority for the president to demand or solicit Ukrainian investigations into actions that might or might not have happened in 2015 or 2016 in exchange for aid that was passed by Congress in 2019, let alone an investigation specifically regarding a private oil company, or Vice President Biden, or Hunter Biden's job on a Board or DNC servers in Ukraine or Cloudstrike or anything of the sort.

Had those subjects come up there were known creditable governmental, private and public sources of information available that Congress itself could have considered to weigh in and add to its action if it deemed appropriate. Congress did not deem these topics appropriate or necessary or advisable or pertinent.

Further, Biden was not a candidate for President in 2016 anyhow. He, like millions of Americans, expected Clinton, who did actually win the popular vote count, to win the office, and to run for re-election in 2020.

Trump chose on his own, three years after 2015-16 to add his personal needs for an investigation into a subject clearly critical to Trump's personal desire to win a second term in a campaign in which his opponent now has a very good chance of beating him. Implementing that request in the discharge of his duties would be just as impeachable with or without the money because it is undeniably forbidden. Trump had just gone through an extensive investigation for soliciting Russian help for his 2016 campaign. He has no excuse whatever to have ignorance of the illegality of the action he took. What stops an indictment for that action by a Special Prosecutor, or the DOJ is the belief inside Trump's DOJ that a sitting President cannot be indicted for a criminal act, only impeached.

For Republicans to clamor about a rush to an impeachment, in the face of the Republican controlled DOJ's opinion the only an impeachment is available to look into a Presidential act that is a crime – openly acknowledged to be a crime – is to promote a hamstringing of Congress in the performance of its exclusive constitutional rights to legislate and to it's necessary obligation and responsibility to perform oversight on how well Presidents faithfully and fairly implement that legislation.

Ukraine did not initiate the request for an investigation of a political candidate running against Trump. President Trump did. No military aid need be involved for Congress to initiate oversight investigations of Trump's actions vis a vis Ukraine. No money need be involved to initiate an oversight investigation of Attorney General Barr's conduct regarding Trump's request for a favor from Ukraine. No money needs to be present in that scenario for the behavior itself to be a subject of any investigation leading to a vote to impeach. The solicitation for help to develop dirt on Biden is only rendered more venal by the tie placed on getting the military aid already appropriated in return for the favor.

If Trump's stonewalling of the subpoena requests rests on the demand of a vote by the House to stamp the investigation an impeachment inquiry, he is riding on a requirement that does not exist. It's the House's constitutional duty, right and choice to use the power given to it to perform oversight. An impeachment inquiry merely recognizes that oversight alone cannot capture or reflect the seriousness of the acknowledged Presidential misbehavior within the specific context of giving money to Ukraine. Failure to confront a Presidential wrong-doing if all other responses to Presidential wrong-doing in the performance of his or her job have been closed down, is a serious neglect of the duties of Congress.

Trump only lengthens the time it takes investigators to collect evidence. He does not stop the collecting. He does not control what is evidence or what is collectable. He does not have the power to stop Congress fulfilling its constitutional duty..

Nor does his DOJ have power any longer to pass judgment on whether the evidence meets any special levels. The determination of sufficient
evidentiary impeachment levels is a function of Congress and its exclusive impeachment power. The decision of the DOJ that Trump cannot be indicted leaves only one path open in the Constitution and for the citizens to use to address Presidential behavior found to violate the laws he is bound to obey.

Congress and the right of the House to investigate and charge and the Senate to conduct trial and render and implement a verdict is not an Executive Branch option. There is no authority in the Executive Branch to remove the congressional power to impeach, try, judge and, if convicted, to remove.

Republicans who mislead the public and each other on the true issues are too close to appearing accomplices to Trump's wrongdoing, which is their choice to make. However the right to "spin", to offer "alternative facts" is limited and may ultimately mean both may appear in the trial itself as evidence of a conspiracy to obstruct and deny justice to the nation and the nation's citizens. The use of Barr to conduct an investigation on his own becomes impermissible when it tries to replace, restrict, obstruct or deny Congress its constitutional rights, including the right to the legal processes it chooses to use to fulfill its obligations.

Having rendered its determination that no sitting president can be indicted for an illegal act, Barr opinionated himself and his agency outside any authority to participate in the impeachment on any terms except those which please the House and Senate.

  • Are the Kurds being traded for the twin Trump towers in Istanbul? No real estate restrictions from Erdowan in exchange for Kurdish heads? How can POTUS trade future credibility with allies for smooth sailing for his real estate holdings? The reputation damage will last long after Trump slithers off.

  • the American people are getting advice from bone spurs, hmmm on war. we all know what trump did to get out of being drafted in the Vietnam war so trump is pulling Americans out of Syria is that a good call for our allies in the future. this is another disastrous tactic that will backfire on trump, is gonna cause more damage then we will ever know. a deflect tactic trump uses to stay away from being impeached. Id say to both parties keep the pressure on trump until trump breaks, trump is not thinking at all, trump seems to be more like a puppet to the people around that are using him so they can stay in power. trump is being handled by more people then trump's lawyers so the impeachment proceedings will have no where to go but fall apart.

  • Democrats are not to blame for Trump's DOJ decisions to consider Trump's clearly proven violations of law "unindictable". That is on Trump, on Trump's Administration, on Trump's Attorney General, on the Republicans in Congress who defended and still defend the indefensible.

Republicans had control of the House for two years and access to information from staff conducted investigations, from release of indictments, from committee reports, from witness testimony, from trials, from classified documents back then that we are just beginning to see now. What did they do with that information? Nothing. They focused instead on spreading lies, on tax cuts for the rich, on destroying the Affordable Care Act.

If the Republicans think the Democratic-controlled House is moving too fast it is only because the Republicans moved too slow for two years while the evidence piled up.

Lots of Americans cared enough to read, research, learn from the publicly available and credible information sources, watch the testimony – all of it, not just a few minutes of it. Republicans who lie for Trump, who state misleading information, who blame Democrats for doing the job they refused to do or were too weak to do or too scared to do or too self-absorbed to do are not fooling the responsible citizens who have been determined to know the truth and sacrificed the time and money to do their due diligence as citizens.

Stop trying to shift the blame that you own onto others. Too many of us know better. You created your guilt and failure day by day, week by week, for over two years. Republicans must accept responsibility for their choices and stop dumping on Democrats for being tougher and harder working and less able to be bamboozled by our violent buffoon.

Dems aren't going too fast. They are just better informed from being wide awake for the two years Republicans abjectly kowtowed to Trump while he poured out the gravy. It is your fault you must play catch up now.

  • Okay, Kinzinger, explain it to me from the RethuglyKKKan Republican point of view:
At 8:00, you say it isn't "proper" to turn over subpoenaed evidence or deliver sworn testimony because the Dems are officially calling it an "Impeachment Investigation" when Trump's DOJ just a month ago refused to divulge information because it wasn't an official impeachment inquiry. Long link posted on next line … https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/461387-doj-files-brief-arguing-against-house-impeachment-probe . SO: WHICH IS IT?? You can only have it both ways if you're LYING!

  • Why our 1 thousand American boots are training a 60 thousand strong army in the section of Syria the US has partitioned from Syria at large?, Syria has already their own army.

  • Normally I would be careful about assuming the Syrian pullout was because of Russian influence. Even though it clearly benefits Russia. But look at the timing. Putin is worried that his orange puppet is in danger of being removed. This means he's going to prematurely call out as many favors as possible while the treasonous, pathological lying buffoon is still in office.

  • I read that when James Mattis was in the White House he would just ignore Trump's asinine military commands. Trump would then simply forget that he'd given the orders. It looks like they are doing that again.

  • Let me put it in terms anyone can understand. If your wife or husband cheats has babies or impregnates numerous females would you ever trust them again. The Kurds are you and America is the cheating spouse would you dare trust them again.

  • When all those ISIS terrorists are released from prison, Trump should be prepared for blowback, because every one of them has vowed to strike America.

  • They called it an impeachment inquiry becauses the very transcript they released showed a clear crime, honestly any of the republicans defending him need to be thrown out of office.

  • If impeachment is the only way to hold him accountable why are republicans refusing to accept the truth he constantly destroying this country with his stupidity and they don't seem to care

  • Unbelievable Kinzinger. Ya do know enough for it to be an impeachment inquiry. Ya even know enough for it to be impeachment – 45 gave the evidence himself. 45 and his henchmen are also obstructing justice again – impeachable offences in their own right. Shame on the hosts too for going along with this stupid GOP line of "nothing to see here".

  • When he met with two "enemy " despots unchaperoned,we gave him permission to do …whatever….And he is…Those still protecting him as he protects his personal interests are not understanding what the Presidency is and what it isnt…

  • INCREDIBLE FAKE Joe & MSNBC News.!! Most people in the mainstream news media know the Dems are lying with phony accusations and pretend it isn’t happening. They complain about Trump & want to impeach him, but where were those same Dems when Biden was interfering in Ukraine to save his son from an investigation? No one said a thing. Obama and Biden were probably the most war-mongering President & Vice President we've ever had with Hillary & their lies about Libya and Syria to bomb them, yet most of our news media in the US and EU backed bombing these countries. What kind of responsible news media is that? Biden's a crook just like the other Dem Leaders & everyone in the news knows it! Biased much? What a joke!

  • What can the people that suppose to REPRESENT our GOVERNMENT ie CONGRESS, DO YOUR DAM JOB. If you see a child about stick ones hand in Fire, you jerk them away. We have a child that wagging the dog to protect HIMSELF and saying DAM the country and the citizens.

  • The west has a short breadth in weighing a wars they can start the war but unfortunately they can't finish it,this example manifest itself in Afghanistan after nearly two decades of war they start bargaining with the Taliban.

  • America is right to pride itself on military traditions. Many alliances are forged in the shared terror, tears and blood bonds of battle. When America was attacked on 9/11 how many nations stepped up to help America in its time of need and remain with them to this day. When you abandon that same ally as they need help, American honour becomes a thing to be traded. This will be a disaster for the morale of the American military who willingly go into the valley of death because their president has the moral authority to order them to into harm's way. In case it still matters, this act of treacherous cowardice will signal to any remaining allies that they are subject to the whim of someone too cowardly to serve and utterly unfit to lead the awesome might of the men and women who wear, with pride, their nations flag into battle. True allies never need to be asked, they just arrive and ask where they might be most effective. This act will tell the world never to trust the word of any POTUS. It is unworthy and cost the lives of US military.

Being in an alliance is not a one way street. Who will America call upon when it needs to secure sanctions or receive actionable intelligence or project force outside of continental USA? Only the most stupid person, from 100 generations of people bred for stupidity, would ever share sensitive intellignce with America while Trump is POTUS. He should be subject to a counter intelligence operation, because it sure looks like Putin is his boss. Would an alliance with China be a far more reliable / pragmatic option for nations in the pacific? Putin needs an isolated fatally weakened USA: and Trump is delivering in spades. This 'unstabe tweet warrior' doesn't know that a forward posture protect the US from a war fought on US soil. What a complete an utter WAFTAM.

  • No allies of the US will trust them ever again! Trump's "unmatched wisdom" makes him the laughing stock of the world. We do know that he is dumb!

  • America has betrayed the Kurds who are now going to be slaughtered by Turkey.

Why would anyone trust the current US administration as an ally?

  • Let's call Trump what he is – a treasonous leader and a domestic enemy of the Constitution. He and Pence both need to be impeached and removed from office and face a military court for treason!

  • Lol look at their faces, lmaoo this is hilarious,I bet if Trump would have done the opposite they still would bash him lol

  • Kinzinger, however it came out…it’s out and the president admitted it’s all true! Let’s get to the bottom of this. The docs need to come out and people need to go before congress.

  • What if American soldier's are bombed. Would trump expect Europe's Ali's to be on his side. America needs to be expelled from NATO. The American's are enabling trump to ruin the US the US is finished. So sad.

  • Trump is just defending his interests in Istanbul, his Two Towers. This is why the Emoluments Clause came about and written by people who had more infinite wisdom than Trump. Don't throw the Kurds under the
    bus just for his interests.

  • Oh wee cant wait to see isis back on ground , well done fcked up guys .
Just a note the kurds have about 10k isis members held in prison good luck dealing with that

  • What a lunatic move from Trump – after all that aide for the Kurds. I thought Trump attends evangelical prayers, what happened to that?

  • President Trump ought to let Muslim Turkey deal with the mess in Syria. The Turks have dealt with Arab Muslims for centuries and ran the last official caliphate in the Middle East. Since Turkey is a NATO member the responsibility for any humanitarian disaster should rest with NATO like it did when Muslims were abused in the former Yugoslavia.

  • Well so much for Trump's threats to Turkey about killing the Kurds……it's started already. Ergedon has started bombing Kurdish strongholds today. Reported on European news stations. Ergedon doesn't give a flying you know what about Trump or his threats. No wonder our traditional Allies no longer trust the USA because of Trump and this Administration….this confirms their reasons.

  • trump is a TRAITOR! He is doing Putin’s and the Islamist Erdogan’s bidding, this stupid orange clown must me removed!

  • President won't get no votes hes discrasful to are country cruel and to are allies cruelty hes extremely impulseful hes a man who has problems and hurting are country

  • His reason for pulling the military out of Syria must bring him personal gain because his hotels in Istanbul. And we all know how, that also corrupt, Erdogan thinks. Why did Trump send troops to Saudi-Arabia that are no allies but where crownprince Mohammed bin Salman is his friend. What did this Sheik promised to Trump for this action. The Saudi have their own military and money for advanced defense systems but for the dirty work Trump is happy to send US troops.

  • Reminds me of the Bay of Pigs campaign again… someones going to pay! history always repeats itself in ugly and evil ways.

  • Trump does not cooperate so having more law behind the inquiry is necessary. Trump cannot continue to have no consequences. He's destroying the U.S. Of A. Our standing in the rest of the World is looking bleak.

  • This move by Trump MUST SHOW his supporters that he is a Russian puppet!! What more is it going to take to wake up my fellow Americans?

  • So hard to wrap my head around the fact that Donald Trump…yes Donald Trump…can so directly affect America’s military actions. It is like a bad dream…a nightmare with a big, fat, ugly orange monster in it.

  • I think that Joe, Mika, and all the others should adjust their vernacular from "allies" to "former allies" because I doubt that the US has any real allies any more.

  • All these Republican lawmakers that are condemning Trump's Syria decision will have forgetten this and supporting him unconditionally in 6 months.

  • Congressman sticks his chest out with pride when talking about his service defending American values and interests abroad, but when asked to stand up for those same values while wearing a different kind of suit here in the USA, he cowers and deflects to the same GOP song and dance

  • Actually Joe Biden admitted to extortion and bribery of Ukraine on video. It did not have anything to do with his bid for the Presidency. By law President Trump is required to investigate Biden's crime and gather information from any source that has knowledge of Biden's crimes. Just because Biden is a democrat running for political office does not give him exemption from investigation of his crimes. Investigating a criminal is not a crime.

  • I heard almost all of the republican none all said this is not an act for impeachment but for investigation, but trump said he can't be investigated in other words he has to be impeached.

  • honestly Mika, you barely got the introduction out of your mouth before Joe had to jump right in there. How do you stand him? how could you have him? he's the reason I rarely watch Morning Joe

  • If we don't impeach him, the world, our allies, will not trust us indefinitely. Right now the U.S. relationships with allies is damaged. However, I believe that our allies could forgive and believe that we made a mistake by voting him into office. Having said that, if we allow him to remain, or worse, reelect him, they will believe that as a country Trump is who we are. That is terrifying. This could easily lead to a world war. Tonight my heart is sick and heavy thinking about the horrors that our brave and many so innocent Kurdish friends are facing. It truly makes me ill.
