CMS Board to hold first meeting since superintendent resignation announced

AND 50 MINUTES. ALMOST TWO HOURS TO MAKE THAT TRIP. WE ARE IN A TIME OF LEADERSHIP TRANSITION IN OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT. BUT A FOCUS ON STUDENTS REMAINS CLEAR. THAT FOCUS IS GOING TO BE PUT TO THE TEST TONIGHT. THE CMS BOARD IS GOING TO HOLD ITS FIRST SCHEDULED BOARD MEETING SINCE SUPERINTENDENT CLAYTON WILCOX AGREED TO STEP DOWN. WILCOX WILL OFFICIALLY RESIGN ON AUGUST 2ND. THE SCHOOL BOARD MEETING FOR THE FIRST TIME AND MAYBE TALKING ABOUT THE FUTURE OF CMS SINCE MR. WILCOX HAS RESIGNED. HIS JOB HAS BEEN TO SERVE AS A NEUTRAL AND CONFIDENTIAL RESOURCE FOR FAMILIES. SHE SAYS THE DISTRICT IS FOCUSED ON STABILITY RIGHT NOW. OUR VISION AND MISSION REMAIN THE SAME. I THINK THAT THE SCHOOL BOARD MADE A DECISION THAT IS IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE STUDENTS IN OUR DISTRICT. SOMETIMES THOSE DECISIONS ARE HARD TO MAKE. THAT’S WHAT WE’RE ELECTED TO DO.
